Cannabis Allergy. What can i do about it?

What can be more awful than having a cannabis allergy? This is every cannabis lover’s nightmare

Is it possible?

Like any other plant, cannabis can cause allergies, and some nasty ones.

The cannabis allergy is still rare but cases exists. A study was published in the Journals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology in 2000. The study revealed that 61 percent of 127 patients with different allergies were allergic to hemp too. It is a known fact that a person who is allergic to something may in most of the cases have multiple allergies.

Even a small percentage of people allergic at tomatoes, showed that they have a hemp allergy too.

What causes the cannabis/hemp allergies?

The most obvious reason and the first discovered is the pollen. There are millions of people in this world allergic to different kinds of pollen, and this pollen allergy does not exclude cannabis.

Scientists have also discovered that you can also be allergic to cannabis smoke. The seeds are also not excluded in the possibility of an allergy .

How does the cannabis allergy manifest?

Just like any other allergy, the cannabis allergy starts with runny nose, sneezing, coughing, runny eyes.

Some people have also developed more severe symptoms like the inflammation of the nasal passages and swelling around the eyes. These symptoms appeared just when near the plant, not when just touching it.

Cannabis allergic people who have also touched the plant, experienced symptoms like itching and skin irritation.

How can i still use cannabis if i am allergic?

I think this is the question of every pot smoker at this moment. But don’t worry, if you haven’t developed an allergy yet you will not develop it later,so you’re safe. Lucky you!

But, the people who noticed a cannabis allergy or already have an allergy and want to take medical marijuana due to a medical condition, there is hope.

Scientists discovered that THC has nothing to do with the allergic reactions. The best option to get your medicine if you’re allergic is to use edibles or topical products. Vaporizers are also a good option because you don’t inhale the smoke only the vapors full with THC.

But if you want to do it the classic way, (this means you want to enjoy a blunt) you must take your problem further to a specialist. The only solution to your bodies immune system regarding the allergy, is to slowly inject it with the pollen or the substance which cause the allergy. Thus you should contact your doctor.
