Some of us like to grow marijuana outdoors and have the conditions to do it. For the ones who do, here are some essential tips on how to grow marijuana outdoors:
The whole action begins somewhere in April and ends in October. After you`ve selected the best strains, to have a good start, you must germinate the seed indoors. Feminized seeds are recommended.
The 3 important elements that lead to a great harvest is light, soil and access to water. Of course, you can`t forget to choose wisely the site you`re planting on: it can be an industrial site, your garden, on the rooftop, in the woods, or even a place that used to be a farm; those are grassy areas and this is something you would like to plant on. Take in consideration the insect population in the chosen area can widespread; the bugs could cause you problems. The point is that it must be private and if it has a surrounding fence it`s a plus. The plant requires a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight, or even more it would be better.
A faster growing is ensured by other plants growing next to yours. A really good method of hiding the plants is between the bushes and trees. If your garden is where you decided to grow, PVC plastic sheets can be used outside to cover young plants from unwanted eyes. You can buy the clear greenhouse sheets, and opaque them with white wash (made from lime) or epoxy resin tinted white or grey and painted on in a thin layer. This will pass more sun than white PVC and still hide the plants.
Ideal is to find a place next to a river or a lake (but check the forecast; you don`t want your site to be flooded). If you have the possibility to collect rainwater, you will save a lot of money. A slow-drip irrigation system may be a great option; the watering can be controlled if using a one-gallon milk jug. You only have to refill the jugs. And if you need more watering, add jugs. Another option is to have containers of water nearby, but you have to be careful if you must transport it to the site. Transporting can damage your site and you can attract attention with too much movement.
How to grow marijuana outdoors – PH
For the perfect soil, the PH must measure between 5.5 – 6.5 (more of this could cause problems to the plant in absorbing the nutrients, and less could cause the development of males). Former grassland vegetation is the best soil you can get for your plants. It is recommended to avoid clay or rocky soil, plus it could contain pests and diseases. What you can do, is to mix, or even replace it with one containing compost and fertilizer. Cover the plants’ soil with a thick layer of natural mulch for condensed water and for keeping the soil moisture from evaporating.
When growing outdoors you have the disadvantage in harvesting only once a year; but the connoisseurs can sure make a difference between the two flavors of the indoor and outdoor grown marijuana.
